Speading Speed Reading App Launch

Building a consistent daily reading habit is incredibly difficult today. You probably find yourself distracted by endless notifications and scrolling feeds constantly competing for your attention. It takes real mental effort to sit down and focus on a long article or academic document. I completely understand that exact struggle because I faced it myself. I desperately wanted to get reminders and actively build my own reading habits. I guess you could say I was feeling lazy and needed a reliable system to push me forward. The goal is not just reading faster, but comprehending deeper. I built this speed reading app specifically to solve my own lack of focus. I wanted a tool that would gently keep me accountable and actively train my brain. You can either speed up with the modern world or consciously slow down to learn. Speading is designed to help you do exactly both of those things effectively.

Engineering the Reading Experience

This tool uses Rapid Serial Visual Presentation to eliminate exhausting eye movement completely. The application flashes words on your digital screen one at a time. It highlights the Optimal Recognition Point in red for every single displayed word. This unique technology allows you to process text naturally without physical visual fatigue. Short words of one or two characters place the red highlight directly on the first letter. Medium words of three or four characters shift the visual focus smoothly to the second character. Longer words shift the highlight about one third into the entire word for maximum processing efficiency.

Customizing Your Visual Pace

The application loads with a comfortable standard configuration of 300 words per minute. Initially, I thought I was going to read a lot faster using this software. I quickly learned that I actually enjoy the process and retain more information when I read slightly slower. You can easily adjust this precise visual pace from 100 up to 1000 words per minute. I highly recommend finding a speed that challenges you without breaking your concentration. You can also customize the visual experience with two distinct light themes and three elegant dark themes. The application allows you to adjust the text size and select your preferred operating language easily.

Mastering Retention With DIY AI Quizzes

Reading fast is completely useless if you forget everything immediately after finishing a chapter. Most software assumes you just want to consume words rapidly without any regard for actual learning. Speading uses a unique do-it-yourself AI feature to test your active memory and comprehension. I designed this system to be entirely privacy-oriented from the very first day of development. The application does not tap into any external AI server APIs in the background. None of your personal information or private reading data is ever harvested or sent away. The app simply redirects you to an AI screen to build your educational content securely. You then copy and paste that generated text directly back into the application for offline reading.

Express and Advanced Generation Modes

You currently have two primary options for generating your custom quiz sessions. The Express mode focuses heavily on standard reading comprehension questions based on suggested topics. For example, you can ask the system to teach you something about an interesting historical event that happened on this exact day in the past. The Advanced mode gives you granular control over the generated academic text. You can create a mix of questions to learn specific historical topics like the Holy Roman Empire. You can also generate quizzes specifically built to help you master complex vocabulary through context. The system even lets you set the specific reading difficulty to high school or advanced college levels.

Flexible Breakpoints and Summaries

You always have complete control over how the application paces your daily reading sessions. You can choose to read an entire text with absolutely no breaks at all. Alternatively, you can set the system to pause automatically after every single paragraph. I also added a highly requested page break option that pauses approximately every 300 words. This specific setting stops perfectly at a period or line break so you never lose the narrative thread. During these breaks, you can write a quick summary of what you just consumed to guarantee retention.

Motivational AI Feedback

Active recall is objectively the best way to move new information into your permanent long-term memory. You can copy your written summary to your clipboard and paste it directly into the AI helper. The system uses a default prompt to evaluate the session you just read and the summary you wrote. The AI acts as a supportive helper and gives you a motivational grade on your retention. It is always encouraging and never acts judgmental or overly critical of your mistakes. The entire idea is for you to learn confidently. No one is here to tell you that you are doing things completely wrong. The system will rather highlight exactly what you are doing right and offer gentle tips for improvement.

Tracking Your Daily Reading Goals

Motivation requires a reliable system to visualize your personal progress over weeks and months. I added a dedicated configuration menu so you can set your own daily reading volume goals. The default daily goal is set to 1000 words to give you a solid starting baseline. The application meticulously tracks your total words read, your minutes spent, and your completed summaries. You can view all of this highly motivating data directly in the integrated calendar.

Once you hit your daily reading goal, the app sends a very gentle push notification. It motivates you to finally pick up that physical book you have been meaning to finish for months. I am never trying to guilt trip anyone into doing extra work. This is just a supportive tool to give you that little conscious voice letting you know you can do it.

Upcoming Quality of Life Updates This Week

I am constantly working on new technical features to make your daily reading experience flawlessly smooth. This week I am releasing a major quality of life update specifically for tablet users. The new patch makes the entire application completely usable in a horizontal landscape mode. You will be able to simply set your iPad up on a desk stand and read comfortably hands-free. I just have to finish testing these code changes thoroughly today and tomorrow. I plan to submit the final software update for official Apple review by Wednesday.

The Future Development Roadmap

I have a very clear technical roadmap for future updates beyond this current week. I want to add a collaborative feature allowing you to share entire quiz sessions directly with other app users. I am also actively working to significantly improve the internal algorithm that detects raw content in PDF books. Another planned feature will allow you to take actual interactive quizzes during your reading breakpoints instead of just writing manual summaries. I also plan to add a highly functional navigation strip directly to the active reading screen. This will let you easily swipe forward or backward within a specific text section if you accidentally miss a word.

Exploring Story Mode Generation

I am currently exploring a brand new Story Mode AI generator for creative reading. This upcoming feature will use prewritten prompts to generate custom mystery, drama, or fantasy texts instantly. I know a lot of people do not like artificial intelligence, and I usually view it strictly as a utility tool. I do not encourage stealing creative work, which is why I am approaching this feature carefully. The AI models learned based on all the accessible human knowledge on the internet. I feel I need to use these specific tools to get that deep historical knowledge back into my mind.

Supporting An Independent Developer

I turned this personal tool into a paid product to help pay off my family debt and build a sustainable life. When people in my country need serious financial help, they usually do a raffle or start a GoFundMe campaign. I wanted to try and give people something of genuine digital value instead of just asking for money. You get full lifetime access for a simple $4.99 one-time fee. There are absolutely zero recurring monthly subscriptions required ever. Purchasing the application today guarantees your permanent access to all of these upcoming planned features.

There is absolutely no pressure to purchase immediately upon reading this development log. Take a few quiet minutes this week to seriously consider your current personal reading habits. If you want to support my solo development work for the price of a coffee, I would greatly appreciate it. Try casually searching for my speed reading app on the official Apple App Store today and Google Playstore.
